Sean McIntyre is a New York based actor and educator, where he has performed On, Off, and Off-Off Broadway for over two decades. He earned his BA in theatre from James Madison University and an MFA in Acting from UCSD. While pursuing his MFA, he taught several sections of Undergraduate Acting and Public speaking, for which was awarded the University’s Distinguished Teaching Award for his contribution to the Departments. Prior to joining the faculty at LIU, he has taught at Adelphi, SUNY Old Westbury, and UCSD, as well as guest lectured at NYU, The University of Cincinnati, Rice University, James Madison University, the University of Houston, and the University of the South. He is a long-time facilitator at the Sewanee Writer’s Conference, where he has helped develop and perform new works by many Tony, Pulitzer, and Obie Award winning playwrights. He is a Lifetime Member at Ensemble Studio Theatre where he serves on the members council, innovating programming and fostering community engagement. Since 2021, he has been a teaching Artist with Rehabilitation Through the Arts, where he works with incarcerated individuals on developing critical life skills through an artistic, empathetic approach. He is currently directing his second project at Green Haven Correctional, a maximum-security facility in upstate New York. A Long Island native, Sean is thrilled to be back to his roots at LIU.
